Ellis Jasenovic holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Montclair State University. During his time at MSU, he had the opportunity to perform with such acclaimed jazz artists as Terrell Stafford, Hendrick Merkins, Jeffery Kunkle and New York Voices. He currently performs with the One More Once Big Band, the Garden State Saxophone Quartet and his main project, the multi-influenced fusion-rock band Thank You Scientist. At the winter 2013 NAMM Show, Thank You Scientist performed with such artists as Guthrie Govan, The Aristocrats and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal. Whenever Bumblefoot is speaking about new music, he often says that Thank You Scientist is one of his favorite new bands. TYS released their first full-length album in the summer of 2012, which received international acclaim.
In addition to his performance career, Ellis has taught at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson NJ, working as an instrumental music teacher, assistant marching band director and woodwind technician. He has also devoted several years to working with the Hackettstown Community Band, serving as their conductor for five years. He resides in Hackettstown, NJ.
