Jon-Paul Frappier has worked with top names like Aretha Franklin, Destiny's Child, Michael Stewart and Alicia Keys. J.P. is a native Detroiter and now is calling Nashville home. Jon-Paul is an versatile commercial player, arranger and experienced classical player. In a almost 20 year career he's had several TV appearances include HBO's "Comic Relief," appeared in NBC's "Go For It" musical series.

Jon-Paul has performed over the years with with:Dwele, Aretha Franklin, Destiny's Child , Roy Hargrove, Marcus Belgrave, James Carter, Ellis Marsalis, Luther Allison, Dennis Coffey, The Temptations, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Room Full Of Blues, The Contours, Carl Craig, Kid Rock, The Machito Orchestra, Jerry Gonzalez and the list goes on. Jon-Paul has performed in over 22 countries including a concert for Pope John Paul II. Jon-Paul works regularly as lead trumpeter and soloist with "The Dynamites", the "Afinke Orchestra" and at Mt. Zion Baptist in Nashville. Some recent recordings include; Marc Broussard, Benita Washington, Will Champlin, and numerous jingles local recordings and music library projects.

His equipment includes; Customized gold plated Yamaha Bb trumpet and silver Flugelhorn, AMT wireless mic. Greg Black and Haefner mouthpieces. Custom Bach C trumpet and Getzen piccolo trumpet, Pilczuk lead pipes on all horns. Keilworth coronet and Gemeinhart flute.

Jon-Paul’s First solo project will be finished Fall of 2007 “Funkybrass.” It captures an eclectic mix of Latin Jazz, Hip hop, and World Beat. Check out the preview at
